I am Lulende Mtee Donat, from Democratic Republic of the Congo, arrive in Kakuma Refugee Camp in June 2013. I have a Diploma in Education. I have completed my primary school 2001 and secondary school in 2012 Congo. Certified with Fundamentals of Digital Marketing, certified in Human Rights, Humanitarian Response in conflict and disaster by Harvard University, Understanding International Relations Theory by National Research University, International Criminal Law by Case Western Reserve University EST 1826, Conflict and resolution.
I am the one living this life- I understand the challenges After seeing how conflict affected people in my country Congo, I decided to study peace and development. After getting my diploma I worked as a field mediator, resolving conflicts between two people. but my tribes were not happy seeing me resolving conflicts, So, everyone in my tribes considered me as their enemy. I’ve known the importance of education since I was a child. It’s the only thing that can change your life.
Donat is a youth advocate with strong commitment innovative approaches to education and livelihood opportunities for the underserved population girls and young women’s empowerment and leadership.
He’s is the Founder/ CEO at The Programme for Defying Violence Against Women PRODEVIOW from 2013 to date is a community based organisation that help and mentor girls and young women refugees through provision of skills in quality and comprehensive training on skills for life, as Literacy and Numeracy in English learning classes, tailoring, basic ICT, Web technology, Kitchen garden, Agriculture, Poultry production and management, Counselling, awareness, campaigns, Good parenting skills and Home visits.
He’s an IT Coach Instant Network Schools, a joint program run by United Nations High Commission for the Refugees and Vodafone Foundation supporting teachers and students integrate ICT into teaching and learning process, also Involving in UNHCR Education sector in developing Digital Content for the learning in Kenya Kakuma. He strongly believes in the power of technology to enhance quality Education and boost youth and young women empowerment and employment to attain the sustainable development.
